Is your data exploratory or explanatory? How many charts or graphs are needed and which colors are appropriate to visually represent the information? UNT now offers a non-credit microcredential in Data Visualization to help answer these questions and more. This professional development experience teaches data visualization basics that are career-relevant and industry preferred. This course combines modern data techniques and high utility software to develop key skills such as:

• leveraging visualization in Excel to conduct exploratory data analysis and harvest relevant insights
• matching the appropriate chart type for the insight being communicated
• building slides to help readers engage with insights, retain information, and make decisions
• incorporating visual perception techniques into charts and slides to help audiences avoid cognitive overload
• recognizing when to apply different visualization techniques

The Data Visualization microcredential is self-paced, costs $50, and can be completed in 2-4 weeks.
