Graduate Initial Teacher Certification Program
The Online Teacher Certification Program was designed for mature students who have a bachelor's degree and want to earn initial secondary teacher certification at the graduate level.
The program consists of 12 graduate credit hours and a 6-hour mentored internship. Content for all four courses is delivered 100% online. English Language Arts and Reading candidates may be required to complete up to two additional reading courses in order to meet the state requirements. How does it work?
This is an 18-hour program equivalent to six courses. Of those 12 hours (4 courses) are online coursework, and the remaining 6 hours (2 courses) are either student teaching or practicum. Students in this program may count a number of courses toward an MEd in Teaching if they apply to and are accepted into that degree program.
