Superintendent Certification

School leaders in our public schools are challenged to provide new educational opportunities for all students while solving critical problems that our society faces. The rapid growth and shifting demographics of the Texas student population and variation in the local Texas economies accentuate the need to embrace diversity and promote leadership opportunities for our best and brightest across the state. Our school leaders must be prepared and supported by the finest public research universities to solve the crisis in education and UNT is prepared to offer an innovative approach to leadership as we move into the future of education. Educational opportunities for students lie with the schools, and the effectiveness of these schools may depend largely on the educational leadership developed in programs like the UNT Online Superintendent Certification program.

• The applicant must have administrative experience prior to beginning the program or submit evidence of leadership experience in other fields as a substitute, based on TEA exceptions, which will be reviewed by the EDLE faculty for approval.

All students who have submitted a Superintendent Certification Plan, enroll in one of the approved superintendent certification courses and receive a B or higher in the course will receive the Hilltop Superintendent Certification Scholarship for each course. The amount of the scholarship will be determined each year by the College.
