Applying for financial aid

  1. Apply for financial aid online at fafsa.gov. The application is required for all types of financial aid, including Pell and other federal grants, state grants and loans. The FAFSA and Renewal FAFSA are available each Jan. 1.
  2. You must enroll in 6 hours (over one or two online sessions) in order to be eligible for financial aid.
  3. Financial aid awards will be disbursed 10 days prior to the first day of class. Awards will not disburse if you are enrolled in only 3 credit hours.
  4. Contact Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at 940-565-2302 or by e-mail Financial Aid directly, please click on "Ask a question" through AskUNT for information regarding financial aid for the online program.

Graduate Academic Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling:



The post-graduate advanced certificate in rehabilitation counseling is designed for current and aspiring rehabilitation counselors who intend to pursue the certified rehabilitation counselor credential, per Category R established by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.

The certificate requires 21 hours of post-graduate coursework in rehabilitation counseling.

Eagle with PeopleNOTE: Background courses may be required if your undergraduate degree did not prepare you for current master level courses. Background courses are assessed on an as-needed basis after evaluation of undergraduate transcripts.

RHAB 5730 (3 hours) Disability Aspects I
RHAB 5741 (3 hours) Employment and Career Development
RHAB 5742 (3 hours) Case Management and Rehabilitation Services
Course substitution: RHAB 5731 (3 hours) Disability Aspects II may be substituted for RHAB 5720 if a counseling theories course has been taken as a part of their previous graduate degree. Other courses may be substituted with permission of the graduate advisor depending if taken a previous graduate degree(s).
